ShadFest Poster Auction
Each year, local artists donate original works of art, which are created on a specially designed standard 11 x 17 archival quality board. These "posters" are made available to the public for purchase through an auction. The proceeds fund two $10,000 scholarships, which are given to local students pursuing a college degree in the arts. Former winners are currently working as full-time fine artists, ceramicists, musicians, and art and music teachers. Students we have supported have gone on to become a Broadway makeup artist, an award-winning filmmaker, a fashion designer, a museum curator, a Food Network producer, and more! |

Posters will be on display during ShadFest weekend in April 2025. The artists who create these posters are all 18 years or older, and they're a mix of amateurs and professionals - many of whom are regionally, nationally, and internationally recognized talents.
The Silent Auction is open for bidding for most of the weekend, but it closes on Sunday at 2 PM. Silent auction bids are written on clipboards that accompany each artwork. Remember to check on your bid throughout the weekend and continue to increase it to be sure to win the poster of your choice.
While the Silent Auction is open, you can get a head start on the Live Auction by previewing those posters, pre-registering as a bidder, and leaving an absentee bid if you won't be able to attend the Live Auction on Sunday. During the Silent Auction preview on Friday night, artists' prizes are awarded at 7 PM.
The Live Auction begins at 3 PM on the Sunday of ShadFest weekend. It's a lively event led by Suzanne Perrault, star of Antiques Roadshow and co-founder of Rago Wright Auctions. Mayor Larry Keller of New Hope takes over the second half of the auction and is famous for giving gifts to bidders who surpass four figure bids. Both auctioneers are assisted by Lambertville's own Shad Queen.
The fun takes place at the First Presbyterian Church (27 N Union St, Lambertville, NJ 08530). Be sure to arrive before 3 o'clock in order to have enough time to register and get a seat. We present each year's scholarship winners at approximately 2:45 PM so you can meet these amazing young artists and feel good about where your money goes.
Every dollar you spend on a poster goes on to make the artistic community richer by helping to educate an artist. So bid often and bid high. It is all for the children.

The ShadFest Kid Poster Program is administered through elementary schools in the area. If it's March and your child would like to participate, but they haven't received a poster blank through their school, you can pick one up at Sojourner (26 Bridge St, Lambertville, NJ 08530). This program is generously underwritten by Canon Graphics. The children's posters are on display with the adult artists' posters during ShadFest weekend, but they're not for sale. |
